My paintings could be characterised as mindscapes as my creative process is related to the peculiarities of the inner world rather than the outer one. A mind is a place where everything tangible happens. Various series correspond to different aspects of inner experience. Some pieces may evoke a terrain, a movement, an alteration and commotion, others stillness and quietude. They all pertain to something human, without explicitly portraying the human figure.  Optimism is brave. It’s the fight for a cause as opposed to the fight against something. A focus on the functional, sane, harmonious, balanced, profound. I strive to add a hint of this optimism to my paintings while allowing them to be a colourful equivalent to playing a musical instrument, writing a poem, dancing to the rhythm, or having a conversation with an interesting person.
