Horses with Color Wave Painting

This painting began as an exercise in learning to work with acrylic paint. I was thinking about the lessons by Miriam Hoffmann encouraging a form-first approach. Each horse was an experiment in learning to paint, but the red horse was completed last and I spent the most time trying to feel the form of him. Later the Color Wave was added as an experiment in texturing thicker oil paint. The painting was stretched using a new technique written by a conservator for Golden Paints. [ .html ] [ ] Hanging hardware is included. Painting will be shipped already stretched, but at greater shipping cost. I can work with a local framer if you want to purchase the painting framed.
