About The Artwork
This piece began as an experimental work as a lot of my paintings do. I used bright color contrasted by sharp black lines. The majority of this piece was painted using only a palette knife to create the bold texture and jagged scratches. The inspiration for this piece was a brutal L.A. heatwave. No shelter from the blazing sun. Not a cloud in the sky. The swelter of an August day in the city.
