About The Artwork

This painting belongs to ´Woman Fractals of Action´ collection. I Magic Nation, is our nation of magic, in which we experience freedom when we are capable of using the magic of our imagination, and create the reality that we prefer to feel and live. And realize that once you're in that state you can be an inspiration for others to create their own nations of magic. I like to get inspired by women taking risks and  overcoming them. I love to depict humanity, through the energy of a woman, like a fractal of Mother Earth. I paint with both acrylic an oil on canvas, and complete it with threads. I like to explore the human figure on an abstract background. I usually work with vivid colors, depends on the subject and the meaning I want to transmit.

I´m a Los Angeles-based artist, originally from Spain, where I studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. I have always been dedicated to Arts, worked my entire life as an actor, but my inner Visual Artist always accompanied me, fascinated with how light plays with nature, objects, or faces on stage, on a set, or in life itself. That’s why after some intermittent attempts to develop my artworks I´m ready to freely experiment it. Sharing what I imagine, sharing my certainties and my doubts, my lights and my shadows. To “perform” as I´ve always done as an actor, but completing the missing part related to painting. Manifesting with my hands, as the etymology says: Mani = hands, fest = festivity. So let’s celebrate with our hands! Let’s Resignify. I work on the idea of Resignify as a main inner motor. Every aspect of our personality and our life experiences can’t be removed but resignified. We can give them a new meaning, transcend them and move on to the next level. Becoming human beings that can see things in a higher perspective than ourselves. That’s why I love to resignify old photography. Women from the past living here in our present. Different colors, different meanings. The range of women I am on the inside expressed in women I paint on the outside. I use Oil and Acrylic to create fragments of the emotional aspects that complete me in the very moment I creates them. And I hope that whoever acquires them will complete them either. I also demonstrate my passion for cinema by painting movie frames that inspire me.
