I am Spiderman, Three! Painting

This is from my current series, a series of children ´s portraits, a series featuring children mostly with their faces painted as superheroes, butterflies, animals and so on. I chose this as a series because children, of course are cute. But, I also find them really interesting. I love how they distill the world into something more honest and simple. Unlike adults, like me, who tend to overcomplicate everything. I mean, how many adults can be photographed without feeling self conscious about something or other? Adults usually learn to wear masks in some form or other. Whereas children can ´t really do that. For a child, a mask Spiderman mask, is all about play. What wonderful and heroic adventures can he have? Who knows? The world is wide open… Painted with Winsor and Newton professional watercolors on Arches paper.
