Paolo Polli was born in 1951 in Milan where he attended the Academy of Brera (academy of fine arts) and graduated from the Polytechnics School of Design. Bruno Munari and Max Huber were among his teachers. He lives in Italy and spent several years in the North of India. His personal research consists of realistic visions filtered by his inner visions. Polli's visionary realism is present in his paintings as well as his set designs. His works have been exposed in solo and collective shows in Italy and the USA. Many of them are held in private collections in Europe, Asia, USA. As a set designer he worked for some of the most important Italian theaters and in the film industry. In the last few years his paintings have been inspired by two main themes: death as a metaphor and the core around which our mental illusions are built up. Nature as a link between mankind and the hidden world trough totems and ancestral symbols we can find in all cultures.
