I am a Japanese-Brazilian artist born and raised in a Japanese colony in Sao Paulo state, Brazil. I have been raised as a bilingual child that have always loved to draw and paint. During my childhood, my drawings used to be published in the "Sakubum" books that were sent to Japanese people's houses throughout the colony. Nonetheless, I have started later in life to study the history of art and all major artistic techniques with renowned teachers in Brazil. Art is a full-time companion in my life. When I see flowers and tree barks, reflections, shadows and everything that surrounds me, I think about compositions that I could use in my paintings. Most times, the art of painting itself guides me in determining what colours I should use, what lines and shapes I should draw and so on. The final result is always a surprise to me, sometimes not even close to what I have envisaged when I started, therefore I am never fully satisfied with the art I just created, would this perhaps be a process of evolution?
