About Me: Khansaa Ruiz, also known as Musratti, is a painter of Libyan, Italian, and Australian descent. She was born in Spain but raised in several countries. Her multicultural upbringing made her fluent in various languages and truly turned her into a citizen of the world. Her connection to the world has kept her close to nature, reserving her from living a modern life and seeking any kind of modern rewards for her achievements. This reservation of hers helps her stay grounded and create art that depicts the world as she has seen, experienced, and lived. Her work is inspired by her roots and connections to different parts of the world. However, her connection to the Mediterranean region shines through the most. She is known for creating circular abstract paintings rich in earthly colors. From red sand, dark blue water, rocks in shades of gray to pure white clouds, all the natural elements can be found in the painter’s art. Her abstract paintings highlight these elements in their most authentic colors and forms. Although abstract, the paintings are clear in the imagery they are inspired by and can transport the viewers to the places they depict. Combined with the naturally-colored details are geometric patterns from the Mediterranean region. The symmetry, shapes, forms, and arrangement of these patterns further highlight the importance of the painter’s roots as her inspiration for her art. The geometric patterns in the paintings always begin at the center and spread to the corners while maintaining their symmetry and balance throughout the circular pieces of work.
