About The Artwork
Icarus is a series of large format paintings representing bodies in levitation. This reinterpretation of the myth of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun knowing his wings might melt, echoes the current situation. The human species is running towards its own destruction in full awareness of the present ecological disaster. These serene bodies floating in space symbolise the moment where, for better or for worse, everything is still possible.
