Imaginary Garden of Flowers on Blue and White Background (Bougainvillea, Lily, Elderflower, Protea, Reed, and Speckled Leaves) Painting

Another imaginary jungle garden composition in gouache and acrylic. This one includes little blue african violets and an obnoxious, blowsy protea along with the usual host of easter lily, eucalyptus and strelizia friends. The bougainvillea addition was inspired by the one that flowers in my garden all year long, providing hidden nesting space for birds I imagine to be far more thrilling than they actually are. This one has a little area of electric blue peeking out under the white background of with thickly textured brush strokes, contrasting against the lovely little peach and white flowers, and the deep orange of the reeds and birds of paradise.
