I imagine, I paint, I paint, I imagine... whether they are small studies or large paintings, my journey goes like this. My large brushes sweep across the canvas without bothering about the outcome, followed by large-sized knives. The sweeping sound of the brushes and the screeching echoes of the kni...

Magunta Dayakar – Artist & Author Magunta Dayakar, born Magunta Venkata Subba Reddy, is an Indian artist, writer, and filmmaker. After discontinuing his undergraduate studies, he explored various creative fields over different periods, shaping a diverse artistic career. Dayakar gained recognition as a popular fiction writer in his native language, Telugu, and has authored 35 novels. He also worked as an editor and publisher, briefly running a feature magazine. In addition to writing, he ventured into filmmaking, scripting, acting in, and directing two feature films. A prolific author in the field of painting, he has written 15 successful books on painting, many of which have received 4 and 5-star ratings on Amazon. His paintings have been acquired by private collectors and institutions both in India and abroad. Artist's Statement I would like to experience the untamed character of the forest. Rocky terrains, moss-covered spaces, rugged paths, slopes, winding brooks, waterholes, trees... the list goes on. It's endless. Capturing them on canvas with their rawness is an exciting experience for me. When I paint, I won't bother about finishing a painting or completing each and every part of it. I like to leave some areas unfinished or incomplete because, in nature, everything evolves continuously, so there is no completion. It's unfinished. My paintings are also like that. They are unfinished, yet you feel completion — like nature.
