The color is a bit off here. more whitish than what really is. -This is sort of a self portrait. That's why she is wearing glasses. That gesture with her fingers is something priests do. They give blessings like that and you can tell I'm not very respectful. I can sanctify whatever I want cause I'm an artist.
That's the mathematician right in the window. He loves nature, but I think he prefers to look at animals in books.
This painting is so small that it makes no sense to take it down and roll it. I will put it in a cardboard box, and you will be able to hang it right away. Later you can find a nice frame.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I have a very small front garden very much like the one in the painting. I often look for insects and spiders to photograph and post in instagram. I love everything that crawls and sneaks their way into my garden. Except for the ants that can eat my lemon and specially the jasmin. ONe day I found this most pretty creature, all yellow and with some black stripes. We all love yellow butterflies, but I marvel at their previous stage. My partner the mathematician is looking thru the kitchen window. He also loves insects but his favorites are the spiders.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion. I am an atheist, after years of searching. I am Mexican, after two migrations. I am a grandmother and that's a priviledge. Please check my IG to see processes, inspiration and things about Oaxaca.
