"On the Shore" is a captivating watercolor painting that depicts a dramatic scene of a ship navigating towards the shore amidst a raging storm. The artwork showcases the raw power of nature as turbulent waves crash against the pier, while glimpses of light illuminate the houses standing steadfast on the shoreline. Against a backdrop of a dark purple sky with intermittent sunlit gaps, the painting captures a moment of both peril and hope. The focal point of the painting is the ship, bravely battling the formidable waves as it approaches the shore. The ship stands as a symbol of resilience and the human spirit's unwavering determination in the face of adversity. "On the Shore" evokes a range of emotions, from awe and trepidation to admiration and hope. It serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between nature's fury and the human spirit's ability to find solace and light amidst adversity. The painting encourages viewers to contemplate the power and resilience found within both the natural world and our own inner strength.

Self-knowledge is what my art gives me. I've learned to enjoy the process, that's what I like most about watercolor. I work mainly in the wet technique, because that's how watercolor shows its maximum potential. The result is always unpredictable, because the watercolor does half of the work and I like that bit of uncertainty that I can't change. I complete the painting and the painting completes me. The granularity of the pigments, the undertones, the airiness - that's why I love watercolor. I really like to experiment and paint not only with traditional watercolor tools such as brushes, but also with bags, napkins, sponges, etc. I like to paint on large formats as I feel more free to do so. The main idea of my art is to give people an opportunity to understand themselves and their attitude by looking at familiar things, to discover simple things anew. I draw on free subject matter, it's more important for me to feel what I want to depict, whether it's an apple or a street in Italy. I'm interested in exploring color combinations and their effect on people in my work. I try to capture the essence of what is being portrayed without being too detailed, leaving the viewer free to imagine. I'm inspired by the space around me, the way nature and man live together.
