About The Artwork
The dial indicator is at the heart of the machinist's trade. Used to locate and measure the metal being worked on, it is precise, accurate, finicky and takes years of practice to master. This scene is taken from a shop where the machinist has set up a drive shaft in an old rotary indexer and three axis Bridgeport mill. This is an original watercolor, 8" x 12" on 100% cotton, 300gsm paper.
