Jerry Magni (born 1968 in Italy) is an Italian tattoo artist. His work investigates the impossibility of cleansing the unconscious, of taming it, like the cats on his battered, scratched, worn-out canvases, like obsolete walls on which several layers of peeled plaster overlap. Surreal subjects with sharp contours, just like emotions; reinterpreted, like feelings that, evolving, continue to leave a mark. He doesn’t have any reference artists, in the world of internet the influences are diverse, continuous, conflicting; likewise, the text on his paintings allow for diverse interpretations beyond the image. He paints nervously and instinctively alternating periods of inactivity to periods of extreme creativity.
