This is the front cover of my latest book: Infinity King and other Chess Stories and Riddles (available at Amazon). It is believed Chess was invented in India around 550 AD. However, China has a strong claim for the invention of chess. Chinese chess, also called xiangqi or elephant chess is an ancient game, and its similarities with western chess are notable (A World of Chess, by Jean-Louis Cazaux with Rick Knowlton is an eye-opener and worth reading).
