Ingrid Bergman Painting

My name is Federico Galati, I was born in Ivrea (Torino) 37 years ago.My passion for art started in my early childhood. I was 5 year old and I used to ask my sister to teach me how to draw,and so she did, I keep the memory of those days still alive in my mind. time past by, I kept drawing and paintig throughout the years for my personal pleasure but as the time pass by I started realizing that life was drifting me away from what I love to do: paint. Now I challenge my self taking the lead of my life and drive it where I want to go, doing what I want to do. my subjects are, in the majority, humans, male and female, portraits and bodies. I'm now discovering all the benefits I receive from painting landscape such as a deep feeling of inner peace but in spite of this, painting humans still remain as challenging as gratyfing. the challenge doesnt come only from mastering the tecnich, overcome the blocks I face during the process of painting, the challenge is also to create a link between me, the portrait and the viewer. when I'm in front of the white canvas I see the image I want to paint with all his colours, when I open the tube, press it to get the colour out, lay the brush on top of the colour, inside the colour, and then on the cavass I feel a strong energy flowing... I'm alive... I'm doing what I want, what I love. The viewer can be a landscape, abstract or still life lover but if I can pass that energy on to the viewer, if that energy in terms of emotion or whatever, reaches him or her, the challenge has succeded. We have to turn interruption into a new path a fall into dance fear into ladder dream into bridge needs into a new encounter - Fernando Pessoa
