About The Artwork
On a visit to Dubrovnik I visited the castle there that was used on the set of Game of Thrones in the first series. The light that day illuminated the stonework to create dramatic light and shadows. The photo I took there was a starting point as I wished to alter the natural colour of the stone to bring in contrasting and complementary colours. Split the light like a prism. This work is part of a series of paintings, still in production, where the viewer makes their own interpretation of the space as it is like an empty stage with no characters.
