‘Inverse’ is a minimalist abstract painting, but in a more specific description, it is geometric. Well after all, the geometric is derived from the minimalistic if not mistaken. I have been painting in and around of this style for some time, even when being oblivious of these movements, seemingly allured subconsciously as to speak from my creativity of light forms and amplifications. You will find a lot of light, flow and movement in many of my paintings, whether abstract or not.

This painting lends itself to geometric art I guess even more so from the slightly illusionistic impression it gives off due its lines and amplifications. From the colour rendering, I gave an inward and an opposite outward disposition with the help of the contours as well. It is simplistic in style, but subtly demanding at the same time and harmonising aesthetically.

The painting is worked onto a ‘boxed’ gallery wrapped stretched canvas and the sides are painted in two separate halves right around. It is almost sculpture looking, protruding out of the supporting wall, giving a structure form.

The design is also versatile in the sense that the painting can be turned around onto whichever side one prefers and still look right in view. This is the precise reason why I have not signed it on the front, as to not distract from any attention or look odd in any position. All the markings are on the rear of the piece including my signature and logo.

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. His different genres of works are ongoing series which are added to from time to time, whether it is his Aviary, Abstract, Allegoric or any other style he employs. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
