About The Artwork
The female reproductive body is under pressure in the 21st Century in a world predicated on patriarchy. As a midwife at an earlier time my work interrogates this notion. Flowers have long stood as symbols for fertility and fecundity and the watery ink medium lends the image a visceral quality. This work is currently on exhibition.
