About The Artwork

Many of us haven’t had the ability to take a break or vacation no matter how hard we worked. We work paycheck to paycheck wondering if one day we will be able to just rest and take it easy. Many of us as well would say we have ample time and it’s about our “hustle” our “mindset” our “work ethic” but in reality many of those who say this come from a place of privilege. We have the privilege to take a day off, to take a vacation, to work from home, to work one job to support ourselves and our families, to have a car, to have working internet - it’s hard to understand the other side when you haven’t had the opportunity to feel what it means to be not as privileged. But even as we are privileged, we can do our part to help those without our same privileges by supporting their restaurants they work at, buying their art, making an effort to stay at home, using our extra income to aid their loss of income, donating to their causes, sending them notes of encouragement and words of affirmation, doing favors for them without expectations, and standing up for them when they are too exhausted to fight for themselves. We are the change we so desperately seek. It may feel like we’re isolating ourselves and we can’t stand it but we are in isolation to help support those who don’t have the privilege to isolate themselves in the midst of tragedy. It starts and ends with us.
