"It's raining in paradise" Painting

This work denounces the absurdity of violence and that the fight against it must be a common objective, because its tragic consequences affect and upset the balance of our societies. This painting was inspired by the riots of 2005 following the controversial sentence of Nicolas Sarkozy, who clumsily declared that he was going to clean the suburbs with Karcher. This sentence, perceived as stigmatizing by the population from these groups, had sparked days of uncontrollable violence. The reality that followed this unfortunate declaration was rather tragic, the suburbs were set ablaze, followed by days of clashes between the young people living in these neighborhoods and the police, at the end of all this outburst of violence. social tensions have not disappeared. Finally I can say that by creating this painting I wanted to denounce that violence, whatever its source, is intrinsically absurd. It represents a breakdown of the fundamental bonds that should be the foundations of a civilized society. Whether this violence is the result of social tensions or ideological causes, has only invariably tragic consequences for society. The absurdity of violence lies in the fact that it generally resolves nothing in a constructive and lasting way, on the contrary, it generates a vicious circle of retaliation, suffering and destruction.
