"J Wolfe" Painting

Artist, Painter. Born in 1953 in Gdańsk (Poland) some time before the birth of Solidarność. He was born into artistic houshold and there he started his early education of an artist by observing his mothers atelier and exhibitions, but forged his own methods and vision after: in an atelier of famous polish painter Kiejstut Bereznicki. The technique of ZIELEŃ is very personal, unique and original. He likes working with traditional mediums like: EGG TEMPERA, BEESWAX; colours prepared individually from thougtfully selected PIGMENTS. He also likes the use of oil, watercolour, wax and oil pastels. He usually plays with several layers of mediums providing an exeptional WARMTH and DEPTH to his works, which reaveal their differents aspects, depending on lightning. For more than 30 years he explores the subject matters from the universe of music, richness of landscapes to a mystery of human face. Recently ZIELEŃ is especially carried by a certain abstraction, which one could qualify as „talkative”, because of its wealth of signs, colours, matters, shadows and lights and other (re)sources of the nature, which the artist traverses on his inseparable bicycle. Lives and works in Gdańsk.
