Artist Contemporary art. Graduated (bachelor) in photography and painting, at AKI, ArtEZ, Academy of Art and Design in Holland. With time, memories and scars fade away: they become replicas of dreams, a process our brain struggles with. For centuries, man has been astonished and amazed by the memories and experiences, he perceives in his subconsciousness. Our dreams are a form of communication, a universal language that can be understood worldwide. It is impossible for humans to remember everything they have experienced. Experiences get dragged to the dark side of the brain and are kept there. Trough specific scents, colors and experiences, it's possible for certain memories, such as sadness, joy and emotions, to rise and swell up. This we have no control over. I try to hold on to those surfacing memories. In my work, I try to capture the innerness of a person. 'The woman' has claimd a central place in my work. The confident woman that lives in her own (fictional)world, lost in thoughts and desire. Her gaze will rarely meet the eye of the spectator, nor will she turn her head to the Greek canon of beauty. plato says: "The world we live in, is one big dream world". Is her world then reality or still a dream?....
