Here is my latest watercolor painting i call it "Jesus Lion & Lamb" To really understand it you need to read what the bible says about each animal and how they relate to Jesus. The painting is a one of a kind original work of art created by artist. The Size 11 X 14, medium used is watercolor on Arches paper, mounted on museum board, unframed. This painting has many allegory themes. In Christianity, according to a sermon by Augustine, the lion stands for Christ resurrected, the lamb for Christ's sacrifice ("He endured death as a lamb; he devoured it as a lion."—Augustine, Sermon 375A). God sent Christ to earth to lay down His life for man. Throughout Christ’s ministry on earth, He was a servant; He did not come to be served (Matthew 20:28). At the conclusion of his ministry, we find Jesus during His passion being mistreated and reviled by Roman soldiers. They beat Him, they spit upon Him, and they mocked Him. Through all of this, what was His response? “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7). Like a lamb to the slaughter. His response was not weakness; rather it was strength, because He was keenly aware of who He was and what He came to accomplish. You will note that in Revelation 5:5 above it states that the Lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed. What does this mean? It means that Christ overcome, and won the victory! Jesus Lion & Lamb

My art is a reflection of things that inspire me, and bring joy to everyday life faith, nature, abstract, portraits. My style is Expressionism, Modern, and figurative. I enjoy painting wildlife, fish, underwater scenes, faith paintings, and angels. When I paint angels I get a sense of peace and serenity. The underwater scenes are inspired by 30 years of scuba. I also paint wildlife for I am out in the Colorado mountains quite often. My other works can be found at my website https://artallegory.com he mediums that I use are Oil, Watercolor, Encaustic, and Pen & Ink. The Mixed Media paintings incorporate things from nature such as petrified wood, lapis, sea shells and other stones. I retain all reproduction rights on images, artwork, and original paintings. You can find some of my paintings on display at the Brighton, Co. "Color of Love" art display at Brighton City Hall Sept -Jan.2020. The Littleton Fine Arts Museum Nov-Dec. 2019, 2020. Artist Statement: Those who speak in spiritual terms routinely refer to God as creator but seldom see ‘creator’ as the literal term for ‘artist’. I am suggesting you take the term ‘creator’ quite literally. You are seeking to forge a creative alliance, artist-to-artist, with the Great Creator God. Personal Statement: I believe we are all stewards of our planet; each individual should do whatever they can to preserve our wildlife, ocean, forests and air. Stand up for your beliefs, and focus on the positive things in life. Life is short, use your time wisely. Love, Laugh, make new friends, and enjoy Art!
