This painting is part of the Fragmented Memory series that was inspired by places I never been to, but read about in novels. I called this painting “Jewel of the deep”. I made it in July 2020. The medium is acrylic on canvas of size 47x71 inches (120x180 cm). I have signed it on the front. The stretched canvas is staple free sides, wired on the back and with no need for framing. It's ready to hang. Even the sides are painted with the theme colour of the painting.

Nothing on the horizon Nothing that maters to me Nothing at all I'll paint and I'll paint whenever I want.. and whatever I like No one dictates a style, nor should understands my work Today I was happy.. today I was allowed..today I painted. Today she liked my work. She said I'm the best. Today, I'm handsome She said, how can you paint like that Now, I feel better, now I'm smart, now I'm good.. Now, I know, I can leave them all..Now they can keep what I left behind Khalid's statement: For me, creativity is a derivative of mood and ambience of painting sessions. I believe that, the character of a painting reflects the mood of the artist through brush strokes, texture and color. I believe a painting has a life of its own that evolves during painting session. For me, a painting starts to take direction after I cover the canvas with paint. Then I start to solve many problems the painting has, until I end up with a painting that tells a story or delivers a statement. As a matter of fact, I love to take the painting to the limit. I prefer to go through all the emotional stages while painting, starting from "I like this work" to "oh what have I done, I should've stoped". Until, I reach a point of satisfaction that's best described by "look at what I've done. I'm really good". I consider the art of painting as the fastest way to record an artistic idea or to document a situation experienced by the artist as result of being in a given emotional state.
