I am a Jewish woman living in the modern world. This layered piece symbolizes the layers we earn as we go through life. There are so many facets to our lives. Who we are, how we evolve and where we came from. I believe it is ok to move forward and evolve in a modern world and at the same time, cherish our past. These Jewish symbols and images remain and stand the test of time, as they have come from centuries past and will continue into the future. Chai means life in Hebrew and the letters create the number 18. For this reason, eighteen is a lucky number in Judaism.
