About The Artwork
Hollywood ("Hollywood") covers a classic, again. Oedipus written in 429 BCE by Sophocles tells of son who kills father. In motion-picture not one but two father-figures are killed. Murray Franklin and Thomas Wayne, as well as other tyrants. Joker dancing down steps has nothing to do with Eisenstein's Potemkin Odessa-steps, has it? Joker's joke is that society he/we live in is more insane/uncivil than him. In painting "happy" mask is transparent, as is sad face behind it. Society obtrudes. A cool $Billion made from covering Classics (literature, cinema). Tongue-in-cheek. Any other ironies? Enjoy painting. It's good enough. Buy it if you will.

Lowborn, lacking Luxury Beliefs, but not inverted snob. Orphaned, outcast, male, straight, white, capitalist (a tiny fish in a very big pond). In long term and friendly relationship. Irrelevant, pragmatic, singular, evolved, authentic, ironic, sardonic, sceptical. I realise some of these classifications could go against one. Definitely not intersected. Comparatively deprived early life, including exclusions, which has had life-long permanent effect. Not least in being grateful, for what I've got, and for any opportunities that I can both recognise and take. These themes within some of my works. Never faked a sarcasm too. Personally loyal to those who have tried or helped me. Rather than advance their own interests. And vice versa. What else is a man of honour to do? Really enjoy painting, sometimes.
