Journey in time Painting

“My name is Tamara Hoffman, I was born in a quaint little town called Livermore, in the USA. My hometown is known to many as the "Wine Country". Located in Northern California. I was born in 1970 to my folks Tom and Pat. Loving devoted parents they had 3 kids. Mike my brother was 5 years older & my sister Kim is 4 years my elder. I'm the baby. My Dad served in the coast guard. He fled an abusive father and enlisted at 19, straight after high school. He spent more than 30 years in the growing telecommunications field. My beautiful full Italian mom was old fashioned and so devoted to us kids, Pat was a beloved School Teacher and Homemaker. My parents were married 49 years until my Mother lost her battle to cancer. My Father passed 5 month later from Cancer and a broken Heart. When I paint it helps me cope with the sadness & grief of losing my parents. Painting helps me cope and always helps to turn my thoughts into happy memories. Art has given me peace of mind and helps me stay strong and to feel proud of myself while I create new art on on canvas in a palette of vibrant colors and shapes. Art has truly been my happy place my creative outlet. Inspiration and experiences as an artist was when I would spend summers on the beach with my aunt. She was much loved as eccentric free spirited aunt Lynn. She was well known as an artist in her town. She thought me the basic rules when creating a masterpiece. I still have some work we painted so long ago. My influences were my beloved auntie and her beautiful summer beachside. It was here that I realized that I wanted to pursue my career in this field. I believe that being an artist is something that one is born to do an not learned at school, I went on to study through practical experience, learning through trial and error and self learning. I work primarily in acrylic paints on canvas. I currently work from sunny California. USA.
