King & Bay (SW) Painting

Mies van der Rohe's Toronto masterpiece is most stunning at night, when most office workers have gone home and the interior light shines through the copper-tinted windows. My mother worked for many years in one of the TD Centre towers, and I'd often wait in the inner courtyard's sculpture garden to visit her on her lunch or after work. It felt secluded and peaceful despite being situated at one of the busiest corners in the city, surrounded by four enormous black monoliths. With this painting, I wanted to capture the serenity and elegance of the place. Image size: 13" x 15.5" I select the highest quality light-fast pigments for my watercolours and inks. This work is painted on archival quality 300lb Arches rag paper.
