Andrew takes his inspiration from his background and experiences. Through that he is able to draw upon his feelings and allow his works to come together, with the desired results which are impressive for an artist who is still considered a relative new comer. In terms of artists that he looks up to, the main influence is Gerhard Richter. The manner in which Richter works and the undeniable technique that he has made his own is one that can be seen in the work produced by Andrew Williams. Other influences include Jean-Michel Basquiat, a man who painted whatever was on his mind often tackling inequality and racism. What can be said about both of these artists is the impressions they made and created through their paintings. 2017 is going to be the busiest and most exciting year to date for Andrew Williams. With invitations to attend a high-profile event in Venice, followed up with another in Rome, the first half of the year is proving to be a very exciting one for this up and coming artist.
