Krishna Lifting Mount Govardhan Painting

The Legend: As per Hindu mythology, there is an interesting story in the Bhagwata and other Puranas about Shri Krishna lifting the ‘Govardhan Parvat’ or Govardhan Hill when he was only a small child. Why did Krishna lift the Govardhan mountain? The people were in great despair and turned to Lord Krishna for help. He lifted the entire Govardhan mountain on his left hand's little finger and people of Braj took shelter under it for seven days, unaffected by hunger and thirst. Since then, devotees of Lord Krishna worship him on the day of Govardhan Puja. This Picture: Though Krishna protected people and cattle by lifting the mount Govardhan as per the legend, only an illustration is attempted in this drawing to show Krishna protecting the cattle. This handmade picture was drawn by the artist (myself) 10 Oz (440 GSM) medium grain printed Canvas cloth (for oil and acrylic painting) using natural colors. One original piece of work is only available for sale, no prints. The Canvas size is 24X36 inches, the picture size is 20X32 inches, leaving a canvas margin of 2 inches on all sides to facilitate easy framing. This margin is not visible on the scanned copy posted here, but rest assured of sufficient margin (mat space) while framing.
