This piece was born from a tactile experience between me and my work. It is oil on canvas but encaustic wax and a blow torch were involved. It has been buffed to a beautiful sheen that makes you want to touch it. It was titled Kyoto Garden by my friend who saw a little asian figure set with in a garden setting. My art is made with purely abstract intentions. What forms appear with in are up to the viewer. As it so happens, I do love the Asian culture.

I am an artist painting in oils and mixed media. I love large scale paintings and do many by commission as they are hard to store. I am influenced by the Abstract Expressionists of the 60's and how the application of paint can be used as self-therapy and to engage viewers emotionally at the same time. Currently, I am painting the relationship between nature’s ability to create order out of chaos and subsequently, the forces of nature that destroy it. My process begins with reading and research to ignite my ideas. It ends with a piece that puts two opposing ideas together creating a singular voice of beauty and structure. I am also exploring the uncertainty of the future regarding AI, robotics and virtual reality questioning how future generations will be experiencing life on the planet. - "The Departure" a solo show at GDCA exhibited this series. Currently, I am President of the USA National Chapter of IAA (International Association of Art) an arts non-profit organization in official partnership with UNESCO. The organization started in France in 1954 with founding members, Miró, Braque, Calder and Delaunay to name a few. Our mission is to support artists' rights against censorship, copyright infringement and to encourage international collaboration amongst artists while celebrating World Art Day around the world every April 15th.
