LEMONADE Painting

LEMONADE H18"XW14"XD1.75" acrylic with resin on canvas I never start a painting with a plan. I hug the canvas before me, bow my head in reverence and kiss it. Then I start. When I gaze into LEMONADE I think of how lovely it would be to find shade here while having a picnic. Feet in the grass, the smell of sweet nectar in the air as the grasshoppers chirp. I melt into the fresh greens of this painting and feel rejuvenated in its peacefulness. LEMONADE is laboriously and distinctively textured. Each bump and groove spoke to me. I followed. As I intensively scraped at these layers I emulated the power and indiscriminate weathering of Mother Nature’s elements. I used my fingers, sticks, palette knives and large brushes.
