About The Artwork

In the Neogothic Queens Series the theme of the girl with squirrel is one of the first made by me and a very dear theme as muchas the European red squirrel is very dear to me, present in many ancient paintings, from Hans Holbein to Francesco Montemezzano, considered a domestic animal, often adorned with gold chains as small leashes. The Queen is a mix of eras and countries. The dress has a Renaissance style , but the jewels are, modern the diamond spider-brooch, Liberty the bat brooch, while the coral bracelet was given to children since the 15th century. The girl wears many hat pins adorned with pearls in her hair of various shades and pearls are the earrings and the pendent. The ring with the eye is almost a signature, since it belongs to me and was designed and made for me by my husband, and artist himself,
