La Trompeta is 4 of 5 in the Musician Series. He is boldly represented in bright flowing and explosive colors representing the 'salsa" of the Caribbean, specifically my home country of Cuba and the many tropical colors. This series represent the love for music, cigars, vibrant colors and enjoying good times with friends and family.

Cuban-American artist Carlos Granela was brought into this world in July of 1968 in Havana, Cuba. He moved to the United States with his mother at the age of three. Living in New York City, the Bronx, then New Jersey. He started developing his artistic abilities at an early age. During the 3rd and 4th grade in the Bronx, N.Y. He was well recognized for his artistic talent throughout his early education and was often singled out to create art pieces. During his high school years in Union City, New Jersey, he exhibited his art in several locations. He was named school artist upon graduation, by his peers. At this point is where he started to really show his love, talent and appreciation for art, and was well recognized as a young talented artist with a future. Carlos and his mother moved to Miami in 1990. He wanted to get more involved with his art and the desire to challenge and expand his artistic abilities, so he enrolled at International Fine Arts College, Miami in August of 1990. He graduated with an Associated of Arts degree in Commercial Art. During this time he fine tuned his artistic abilities and learned how to use an airbrush, his favorite tool, at the time. He learned how to master this tool so well early on, that he eventually began teaching others how to use it, as well. He later returned to his first love of fine art in the traditional way by painting with a brush and incorporating other mediums. In the mid 90's Carlos opened Momo's Gallery Caffe' in Coral Gables, Fl. This brief, but exciting venture, was a combination of an art gallery with a gourmet coffee shop. This was the perfect place to exhibit his own latest works of art. He also accepted art from other local upcoming artists to give them an opportunity to be seen and have the exposure every artist desires. “I wanted to share my space with other emerging local artists so they too can have a place to express their creative passions without all the red tape”. The art and the colors he uses are inspired from his native country of Cuba, as well as, the Caribbean, which contain vibrant colors that are used in his brilliant creations. The sharp and exciting tropical colors along with the use of composition and simple, yet complex lines and beauty, bring his art alive. Carlos is the proud of father of two of his best works of art, Carlos Jr., and Michelangelo, who still live in Miami, Fl.
