Paola Geranio is a contemporary Italian painter. She has been studying painting since the age of 9 with master Mario Bergamaschi, graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and collaborated with art galleries in Italy and abroad. He embarked on a personal study of colour, portraiture and light, based on in-depth studies of the technique used by great artists such as Georges Rouault and Jenny Saville. Her pictorial research characterises her path constantly, a continuous journey of exploration, marked by a dedication to traditional techniques and the evolving landscape of artistic innovation. Her paintings narrate an introspective journey, in search of a connection to the deeper self. The face that is flesh and blood becomes an obsession, which is reflected in the material details and looks, between folds and vibrant plays of colour. The confident, charged brushstrokes and the use of colour with references to reality place the work between the figurative and a place of the unconscious. The Daemon becomes real in the painting, like a place to dwell.
