Lady Death Painting

Dr. Ph. Martin's lightfast, archival watercolor concentrate and ink on Arches cold-pressed cotton paper. This year has been shrouded in death; of important people, creatures and things. I have seen the suffering and loss of so many undeserving. This image came to mind while surrounded by sorrow-filled family, my feet dangling into a deep fire pit, my eyes glued to the graceful dance of the flames; a perfect mingle of blue, orange, red and yellow. I cannot imagine even Death herself could take so much without feeling the weight of such loss. After a very long journey through many mediums, styles, subject matter and perspectives, I feel that I have finally found my art path. I plan to complete many more paintings in this likeness and to eventually transfer this general style and subject matter into comics.
