ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The place is the Maryland Eastern Shore. Specifically the town of Saint Michaels on the Chesapeake Bay. The population is much larger than Pueblo Edén but they are both charming towns where people live peacefully and in nature. St. Michaels is also known as "the town that fooled the British". During the War of 1812, the residents of St. Michaels, having been forewarned that British barges were positioned on the waters to attack with cannon fire, hung lanterns into the trees. This first successful "blackout" fooled the British into shooting at trees at nightfall, therefore erring the aim of the town's houses. My little niece Rosa proposed that on this night they were just rehearsing and enjoying the evening, therefore, no ships or cannons, just a peaceful scene, like any of the ones in Pueblo Edén.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Sabina found success early in her art career. When she was 6 years old, one of her drawings drew a bidding war between two art collectors. Another of her drawings was selected for the cover of a record. Before her 10th birthday she sold prints of her drawings and donated funds to Children's Hospitals. Throughout her career she focused on figurative ink drawings with intricate details. Sabina has been influenced by Henri Rousseau, Caleb Ives Bach, Marrnyula Munungurr, Mulkun Wirrpanda, and Francisco Toledo. She treasures early American folk art, Pre-columbian, Aboriginal Australian, and Native American art.
