About The Artwork

This is part of a collection of Oregon's historic covered bridges. There are 54 bridges in Oregon. This one was built in 1939 and is located in Crabtree, OR. I am an Oregon based artist. I began seriously painting at an early age when I received my first set of acrylics. I now paint with oils and watercolor. I am a landscape and nature artist as I prefer natural light and natural settings. I refer to my style as painterly realism - passages of loose brushwork, fine detail, lost edges, and texture. Depicting atmosphere, the course roughness of weathered wood, the roar or gentle babble and reflections of water, or the soft feel of a peach is what I strive to create the best I can. I look at my artwork as so much more than visual. I am always pushing myself to learn and try different techniques, raising that bar ever higher in the pursuit of being that better artist.
