This painting is inspired by my deep connection to Venice, a city that feels like home and is just a few kilometers away. It captures the magic of a recent snowfall, where the sky seemed in turmoil, as if a snowstorm was sweeping across the city. The gondolas, covered in snow, stand still near the d...

Silvia Basso, known by the artistic name Rosa del Grappa, paints with a unique sensitivity, striving to capture and represent the beauty that surrounds us. Born in Bassano del Grappa a small town near Venice, in 1976, she grew up immersed in the fascinating world of her family's goldsmithing business. From a young age, she worked in the jewelry sector, where she managed all the technical aspects, eventually becoming a designer and enameller. Her passion for art blossomed when, together with other volunteers, she painted the walls of the local nursery. This moment marked the beginning of a deep love for painting. In 2015, she opened a bed & breakfast, where she decorated the rooms with murals depicting the historic and natural landscapes of her homeland: Asolo, Marostica, Cittadella, and Bassano del Grappa. This experience further pushed her to evolve as an artist. Her technique has been refined under the guidance of local masters: she studied hyperrealism with the great painter Luigi Pellanda, explored the world of nature as a source of inspiration with teacher Fabio Basso, and immersed herself in abstract art, using the palette knife with the original master Yana Kiyko. Today, Silvia continues her exploration of various painting techniques, stimulated by her incessant imagination. Each of her works is a journey that narrates the evolution of life, creating elegant, fresh, and refined atmospheres, perfect for any environment. The main theme of her works is nature, with a particular focus on landscapes, flowers, and animals. She often paints from photographs she takes during her walks, aiming to capture the essence and beauty of the places she visits. Her paintings are frequently described as photographic, due to the precision of the details and the care with which she reproduces reality. A distinctive aspect of her work is the use of various techniques within the same painting: Silvia loves to experiment by combining airbrush, brushes, palette knives, and mixed techniques, using both acrylics and oils. Each painting is a work of research, where technique becomes a means to enrich the message and aesthetics of the piece.
