Gayane Manasyan (Ganna Frans) was born on August 25, 1984 in Tbilisi,Georgia. Her mother is a philologist and father is a project manager in engineering. Her grandmother's motherly side, being refugee as a result of the genocide of 1915, comes from Mush, the western part of Armenia, at present Turkish territory. Her grandfather’s ancestors motherly side the Ter-Karapetyans were priests in sacerdotal office in Spitak, Armenia. Her grandparents fatherly side come from Armenia, Sevan. The artist spends her childhood in Russia because of the business trips of the family, and when she is 12 they are back to Tbilisi, Georgia. The artist reveals herself in different spheres. While studying in the University of Foreign Languages and Culture (Tbilisi 2002-2005), faculty of pedagogy in English and French, she attended painting lessons in the Young Artist Studio in Tbilisi, Georgia. The supervisor of the studio says: “ I witnessed Gayane’s development into professional artist, she has refined her own charismatic style of painting. Her writing is many-layered and colourful. The colour structure is deep and always connected to the themes in her paintings. She pays great attention to the tone and depth of the painting and her compositions are dynamic and unique in decision.” In 2007, she becomes an acknowledged member of the Tbilisi Artist Union (Georgian Artist Federation) and later on an honorary member of the Artists' Union of Armenia. “Gayane’s creative works are the means of expression of the artist’s subtle soul and her belief. Her paintings are lyrical and romantic, in other cases, deeply philosophical and dramatic in color with different tints in harmony with the composition”, says Academic Demur Basheleishvili, the Chairman of Tbilisi Artist Union. The artist's works are created in mysterious colors with deep philosophical concepts and lyrical mood. The choice of the theme in the paintings depends on the experiences of the artist: in the religious themes the artist reveals her transcendental feelings: “Writing such kind of paintings I pray” says the artist. When she paints nature she integrates human nature with the phenomena like rain or wind, compares traits and characters of people with different flowers, landscapes. Mount Ararat is one of the favorite themes of the artist. She says: “This wise white mount always inspires me, as if telling me, his granddaughter, the history of my nation”.
