ABOUT THE ARTWORK
As I'm learning fine arts, so I get to know about new techniques as well as those dating back in history. I get to know about two new techniques that were used for paintings in ancient time i.e. fresco and egg tempera. I decided to give a try on egg tempera. And to my surprise the results turn out to be really satisfying. The piece is made with extreme love and affection. Firstly, I fetch a piece of cardboard (locally known as lasaani sheet in our area), then I pour around 4-5 layers of binding medium (locally called as 'suresh'). Afterwards zinc powder is layered with intricate delegacy to form a surface. I layered the board around 5 times. Dying colors are used with egg yolk as medium. Now, the piece is ready to adorn its permanent place.
