This artwork is inspired by deforestation. The trees, lungs of the Ear...

TECHNIQUE
I use oil paints. I impaste the first layers on an acrylic background, visible in
some places.
One of my style’s characteristics is to define the painting’s elements with a
burnt umber line.
My inspiration comes from my pictures of nature, which I interpret on the
canvas, as well as from my imagination, especially for my sky studies.
My artistic career has been influenced by three painters:
Charles Steeler for the purity of the lines
Grant Wood for the landscape geometry
Edouard Hopper for the melancholic realism of his paintings
ARTISTIC PROCESS
I mostly paint landscapes, as I love highlighting the power, the beauty and
the poetic charm of nature with recurring themes such as the sky and
water. Time standing still, a storm on the verge of exploding or a wave
ready to collapse give a dramatic tension to the painting, where beauty and
danger coexist.
The artistic world I create is both realist and poetic thanks to graphic lines
and uncluttered volumes.
In every painting, this minimalist repertoire where austerity is the rule
crashes against a single element with a plentiful, even messy, quality.
There’s a duality between peace and turbulence, precision and
disorderliness, wisdom and madness.
