Roy G Sfeir Artist Statement — My work is rooted in emotion, intuition, and the constant movement of inner landscapes. I paint in layers — veils of diluted acrylic, water, and chance — allowing each gesture to reveal new depths of light, rhythm, and texture. Abstraction is my language: a space where memory, nature, and instinct coexist without the need for a defined subject. I let the painting breathe itself into existence. Vertical bands, luminous transparencies, and shifting color fields often echo the natural world, yet remain entirely free from representation. What emerges is a balance between control and spontaneity, between what is hidden and what chooses to appear. Each canvas is the trace of a moment — a mood, a pulse, a breath. I paint quickly, but never without intention. My goal is to keep the work alive, fresh, and true to the emotion that sparked it. In the end, my paintings are not answers but invitations: openings where viewers can project their own memories, sensations, and inner stories. — Roy G. Sfeir by Anna Smith In Roy G. Sfeir’s paintings, the world dissolves into whispers of color and rising light. His canvases breathe like quiet landscapes remembered rather than seen — places that tremble between presence and disappearance. Nothing is fixed, yet everything feels inevitable: veils of acrylic drift across the surface, settling into luminous traces that echo rivers, forests, or horizons without ever naming them. Sfeir paints as others might listen. Each gesture is a response to an inner murmur, a pulse carried from memory into form. Water and pigment wander freely under his hand, creating subtle fractures, openings, and soft vertical paths through which light seems to travel. In these layered transparencies, chance becomes an accomplice, revealing textures and rhythms that cannot be rehearsed. His work moves in silence, guided by breath rather than intention. Colors expand and contract like shifting weather — blues that recall distant lakes, greens that hum with the energy of living earth, golds that flicker like the last light of day. Through abstraction, he grants the viewer a space to wander, to find their own echoes within the depths he creates.
