The children's protest for the environment inspired this work. I want people to feel uncomfortable in how we interact with nature and the world. It is our children who wil suffer, and we should start listening to them.

I am Anita Salemink, a writer and visual artist, and I was born in a village named Groessen near Arnhem in The Netherlands. I studied at ArtEz, University of the Arts | Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle, and have participated in numerous exhibitions — see my exhibitions tab for details. Many private collections in Europe and the USA include my work. In my work, I try to find answers to life’s questions. The human form inspires me — the beauty and structure of the body, nature and organic matter — leaves and branches. I make watercolours and drawings mostly on paper. Sometimes I combine paint and graphite. I like working with medical skeletons, dead insects, found objects, pressed flowers, and nude models. I make illustrations for commissions under the name of Tabuki.
