VIEW IN MY ROOM
This is an abstract representation of a Leopord Lily, or California Tiger Lily, a wildflower native to northern California in the United States. Walking the trails in the watershed area around my home at the end of the winter rains is a visual delight and a call to celebrate the life force in each of us. As an aside, I've learned that Leopard Lily, (California Tiger Lily) is found in wetlands or along stream banks. In a pinch, you could cook so the bulb like a potato.

A modern American artist, Georgia Gibbs’ colorful abstracts are strongly inspired by the landscape and inland coastal area of California. Her works can be monochromatic and still with the weight of dense fog or colorful and alive like a hot summer afternoon. The viewer is teased by a sense of the familiar and responds to an emotional nuance, always present in the base notes. Recently she has embraced an additional medium. Using image captures of her garden and the natural world close at hand she has begun to compose eco-portraits. This developing series shows a world undressed, yet not unadorned and invites the viewer to into an intimate relationship with the world underfoot.
