About The Artwork

This set consinst of two pieces mounted on a white wooden plate. The main contrast is given by the main colors of each piece: black and red. However the additional stainless steel used on only one piece gives another layer of contrast. If we interpret it as the black one is 'Life' and the red one is 'Death' then the choice of black color usually associated with grief, makes it even more curious. The outstanding stainless steel sphere can be seen as one's soul which would mean that the red board without a sphere is a body without a soul. On the back of the piece a quote from the Bible is written by the artist (in hungarian). Moses V. 30:19 "...that I have put before you life and death..."
