About The Artwork

I have the same painting already available on my profile, I just wanted to make it available in a larger size option for prints. I initially created this painting to be hung in my room. For such a long time, I let my passion for art fall to the wayside. I needed something to hang on my walls and remembered that I could create that rather than go and buy something! So that's what I did. This piece shows the results of my first time experimenting with the use of sponges in my work and I absolutely loved the end result as my base. I plan to use sponges again on future pieces. From there the painting felt too dark for my liking, so I added in the flower as a focal point and a "Light in the Darkness".

Kirstie Singleton is a self-taught American artist, photographer and blogger. Since she can remember art has been her escape space. In high school art class was her favorite place to be. She is deeply inspired by nature, particularly the Colorado mountains where she was born and raised. Over the years, life took over, and while her interest in art was still there, the time was not. Or so she thought. She still currently works a full time job, but she is vowing to never again ignore her passions over work. She has made it a personal goal to use the limited time that she does have too build her "brand" which now includes her Blog, Pinterest, Instagram, a Tik Tok and an online Art presence starting on Saatchi Art(thanks for existing so that artists can do this). She has also made it a point to set aside as much time as she can afford to paint and just delve into art. Most of the time she is hesitant to start a project, because it tends to become an obsession. It brings her great satisfaction and purpose the moment she picks up a paint brush. "I hope my art can someday find it's way into your homes and exude that same joy I felt while making it straight into your lives." Anyways, how weird is it talking in the third person to describe oneself, then top it all off with a quote from yourself about yourself. The reason I worded my "About Me" section this way was because all the other cool kids were doing it, and I figured it was the way to go. Although it is quite possible that famous artists are not actually writing their own bios so the approach to the "About Me" section would make sense. Seems strange and completely unauthentic to who I am. I think I will leave it that way with this little tidbit below so you know that I don't take myself soo seriously.
