ABOUT THE ARTWORK
When the same scenery isn't changing in itself, a landscape for example will look entirely different depending on the season, the time of day, weather or clouds. This applies of course not only to light but also to shadows, because they are inseparable. Stronger light produces harder, higher-contrast shadows and vice versa. And when multiple light sources are superimposed, the shadows overlap as well. I paint with self-made egg oil tempera that creates multiple color tone by layered painting. I like tempera’s deep but, at the same time, transparent color tone.
